Biography
Emma joined the SERCC as a Scientific Editing Intern in February 2025. She is a fifth-year PhD candidate in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Iowa. Under the mentorship of Dr. Dan Tranel, she is completing her dissertation on the relationship between emotion regulation and cognitive control. She has experience authoring, co-authoring, and reviewing several scientific manuscripts. Through the SERCC internship program, Emma aims to expand her editing experience, with the long-term goal of learning the skills necessary to help other scientists write about their research in a way that is clear, concise, and accessible to a variety of audiences.
